All that cash for the lash?

Are you tired of being a slave to mascara? Want luscious lashes like the Hollywood stars you see on TV? Considering enhancing your natural lashes? Well before you transform your short, thin, or pale lashes into something that looks like the Disney character, Bambi, you might consider a few things.

  • There are many options to enhance your lashes-strips, clusters, extensions, growth enhancements & etc.-investigate them all.
  • What’s your goal? Is this a short-term solution for a special occasion or are you looking for a more permanent look?
  • Strips & clusters can be relatively inexpensive, but if you’re looking at extensions you could easily spend $200-$400 for your initial investment and $60-$100 for monthly maintenance (on average).
  • Just about anybody can apply strips or clusters, but when you’re considering extensions-Companies like Nova Lash & Extreme Lash hold classes & issue certificates (so the consumer should just ask about how they were trained-most are full day trainings & where).
  • Licensed Estheticians or Cosmetologists should perform this eye treatment. They should have received specialized training before they offer this service-ask about their credentials!
  • There’s power in the glue! The type of glue your lash therapist uses will determine how strong a bond will be achieved. The type of glue used for this process, along with the lash therapist’s training is what you’re actually paying for. “You get what you pay for” definitely applies in this case.
  • Expect to have to lie still for approximately two (2) hours for the initial visit. Subsequent visits should be shorter.
  • Removal of most of these lashes may need to be done by a professional. Proper removal will prevent loss of lashes and in some cases skin.
  • Natural lashes grow in and fall out every 60-90 days (on average). These lashes are replaced by new lashes without our ever noticing. It’s important that proper application of lash extensions takes place so as the old lashes shed, the extension falls off with it and the natural lash cycle isn’t disturbed. .
  • The extensions should be applied to a single lash, & should be at the base of the lash so it can shed with the natural lash underneath.
  • You get what you pay for (I think I mentioned that already)!
  • You get what you pay for (I can’t stress this enough)!

One more thing…Nova Lash claims to have the only glue that’s FDA approved. There are other good glues out there, but ask your esthetician how and why they chose the glue & how long it’s expected to last.

It may be difficult to full comprehend all your esthetician is doing but at least by asking questions you will get some sense of whether they know what they are doing.
Now that you’re armed with the knowledge of the lash, only you can determine is it worth all that cash!
